The head of the family, the one who led the peasant family, often numerous, and destined to carry out diligent work in the countryside. He was the most authoritarian man, always prepared for any confrontation to defend essentially the pride of home. It certainly represents the best of this bottle which is the result of the best grapes carefully selected by the professional of the winery, each release is made from different grape varieties that correspond to the most qualitative of the vintage.
We decided to produce the “Sor Unno Duilio” 100% Syrah starting from vineyards considered most suitable, that is, those located in the Cortona area. A terroir that leads to the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes that best express the characteristics of this vine.
After the manual harvest, the grapes are transferred over to the fermentation phase which takes place in open oak vats. The wine matures for a period of 18 months in French oak tonneau in the first and second passage, followed by another 12 months of aging in bottles.
In the wine glass, it reveals itself with an intense and deep ruby red color to the eye. To the nose, it presents complex aromas of red fruits, spices, and balsamic notes. To the palate, it is powerful and at the same time elegant with an artwork of flavors that leads back to what is perceived by the nose with an aftertaste of licorice and wild mint. The finish is embellished with velvety tannins.
